A Sear rider built by AYP, American Yard Produces by the 917 Sears Source Code. WHAT engine is on your rider. If it is a Briggs and Stratton and it is the original engine, check the CODE number on the engine. The first TWO numbers of the CODE NUMBER are the YEAR the engine was built. The next TWO numbers are the MONTH it was built. You can surmise the rider was built near the time.

Thanks for the reply, but this one has onan 18 horse . I'm thinking that this is what it came out with.

Your 917-25191 tractor is a 1977 Sears 18/6 Onan twin tractor. Model 917-25190 is also listed as the same tractor and year, but without the Onan name. I think there was a choice of 2 engines, or they started with the Onan engine, later in production.
