Default Onan CSG-6491-6005-A 35KW

I'm looking at using this 35kw machine, but would like to know about what the propane consumption would be at 1/2 load. Can't find any suitable literature online, and Cummings dealer hasn't been helpful so far. Any help would be appreciated. Has about 6400 hours, well maintained. Options are: 0034G NFA-0034-NBB.

Do you have the full-load fuel consumption spec? If so, at half -load you'll probably be at about 75% of full-load.

As a SWAG, half load consumption will be around 400-450kBTU/hr. On propane that's about 5 or 6 gallons/hour...

Hey, thanks for the replies guys. I'm starting to think I'd better look for a different generator, maybe go diesel. At 5-6 gal/ hr it seems that would only run what two days at half load?

... Assuming a 500 gal tank.

In general because of fuel consumption people usually pick as small a gen as the can get away with. And with non-diesel gens no-load fuel consumption typically scales proportionally with gen kw rating

6.7 kw Onan NHE/NHM .4 gal/hr gasoline no-load , 1.3 full load
7.5 kw Onan JB .6 gal/hr gasoline no-load , 1.2 full load
15 kw Onan JC 1 gal/hr gasoline no-load, 2.4 full load
Add ~ 15% for propane.
