Default Weak Spark RV1 Magneto Fairbanks Morse

Hello

I have an old Fairbanks Morse RV1 magneto and it has a very weak spark, if I put the drill on the mag and make sure that the spark plug gap very close is, then there is spark.
If i turn it with my hand there is no spark but if I touch the connector of the coil then I get a little shock.

I tried already another condenser (o,22 uF) and some new points, but there is no diffrence.

Does anyone know what is wrong?

Magnet may need recharging.

Recharge the magnets then if it is still no good looks like a coil.

Thank's for the reactions.
What is the easiest way to make a magnet charger?

There are several threads on magnet chargers. Have a look in the Stak Archives.

Hello all
Before making a charger how about some diagnostics?
Do you have a mulitimeter Daan? If so measure the resistance of the high tension side of the coil and also the low tension side of the coil.
Was the condenser you tried known to be good? They do break down over time.

Are the points clean and set correctly?

Cheers Scott
