It is with great sadness to let you know that Chris Romness passed away July 3 from a massive heart attack. Chris was a collector of gas engines and a wealth of information.

That is sad to hear. I and Dad did a lot of dealing with him over the years.

Christian Maynard Romness passed away suddenly on Friday, July 3, 2015, in Minot, N.D. Chris was born Dec. 24, 1954, at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, to Avis Joy (Ewers) and Halvor Maynard Romness.

Chris graduated from Wanamingo High School in May 1973. He went on to graduate from Dunwoody Institute with a degree in automotive technology. Chris then joined his father in running the Romness Garage in Wanamingo until 2005 when he moved to Crosby, N.D. For the past several years, Chris worked for the city of Crosby and most recently worked for North Dakota Public Transit. Chris had a deep interest in antique gasoline engines and was recognized internationally for his knowledge in that field. He was very involved with the city of Wanamingo during his time living there, including terms on the city council and as chief of the Fire Department.

Chris is survived by his brother, Brian Romness and sister-in-law, Cathy (Clem) Romness of Chanhassen; his sister, Carol (Romness) Loncar and brother-in-law, Frank Loncar and their three children, Katelyn, Brian and Michael, all of Hudson, Wis.; and sister, Daphne Romness of Eagan and her friend, Tariku Belay of Minneapolis. His sense of humor and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew Chris.
