Default 2 HP air cooled Famous question

Have a 1908 with the governor weighs inside flywheel which operates on a ring. The solid bearing that runs on the ring needs to be replaced. The steel pin that the solid bearing runs on is mounted in a brass bracket. Does anyone know how the steel pin is held inside the brass bracket, looks to be a 1/4" pin?
Thanks for any info!

I have an engine like yours. It is the only other one i've heard of with that type governor. Being a machinist, my guess would be that the pin is pressed in. Only a guess. skip

Thanks, I took 1/8" carbide tip and clean to where the pin was round and tapped lightly with a small punch with no luck. Maybe it needs a little heat and little more punch.

So is your governor on the cam gear or on the flywheel? Do you have more pictures of your engine and governor? What is your serial number? I have two engines here with the governor on the cam gear.

That pin is pressed in, friend of mine told me to heat the brass bracket up and let it cool and then you should be able to push it out with punch and it did. Now I can make me new roller or use a ball bearing.

Thanks Skip and RVandervoort1
