Default Converting Old Onan part numbers to New part numbers?

I have new and old part catalogs for my "fleet" of CCK's thanks to you guys. Old numbers many times have ALPHA symbols in them such as "A,B,ect" Is there a table to convert the old ALPHA symbols to NUMERIC?
Billy...... You out there somewhere??

Replace the letter with a zero. 149B450 would be 149-0450

Or as many zero's as required to pad part number out to 7 digits.

149B50 becomes 149-0050, 149B5 becomes 149-0005

So it doesn't matter what the letter is? A-Z still zero, zeros? Thanks Billy

Correct.

Any letter (or dash) converts to zero(s)

The only letters I remember actually seeing are -,A,B,C,D,P,K
Maybe some connection to original decade numbers?
