Default 1945 Dodge Truck Box

Hi, I'm looking to buy a truck box for my dad's '45 dodge for father's day. I'm having a tough time finding much online. I did find a site called https://www.horkeyswoodandparts.com

Just wondering if anyone has had dealings with these folks, or possibly know of another company I can take a look at.

Thanks,
Neil

Has to be new?
Is it a standard box you want?
1945 is a special wartime year. Few civilian vehicles were built. Are you sure itís 1945?

Give these guys a ring. If they don't have anything perhaps they can point you to someone.

If you were a farmer or had another operation that was important at the time you could fill out some paper work and get a truck.I knew of a 45 Ford that was around here for years for sale and no one believed it was real but it was after some research was done.
Chances are good that the bed would be the same for the prewar and just after.I doubt the factory did any major changes until 47 as they had to retool from making war machines back to making trucks and cars . Ford for 46 was same as a 42 just maby some trim.

In my experience, when someone says they have a 1943/44/45 whatever and itís not obviously military then they are mistaken about 99% of the time.
Iíve owned my share of ďblackoutĒ vehicles.
For the most part, wartime military vehicles that were deployed overseas were left were they were.
The WWII-era vehicles Iíve encountered were usually National Guard vehicles that did not move out with their soldiers or State Guard (home front) vehicles that were taken from the National Guard. Iíd say about a full third of what I find has a local military past.

Yes, unfortunately it needs to be new. My dad has quite a few health problems so I'm looking for it to be as easy as possible to install. We are looking for a lowside box. It's definitely a '45.

Pictures are worth a thousand words...
Iím thinking itís a Dodge power wagon? 4wd?
I completely understand wanting to bypass rust and dents in heavy gauge metal by buying new.
The only high side Dodge boxes I know of are the late 40s early 50s B series. Thatís the next style after the 1939-1947 style.
Best of luck!

Pros Pick only makes 36-38 Dodge boxes. They are shorter, I think. $1600 ish
