Default 1883 Seth Thomas Tower Clock

Another interest of mine is early and original condition tower clocks by Seth Thomas and E Howard. This is a quite large Seth Thomas NO7 Tower Clock CA:1883 removed out of the Alis-Chalmers Factory in Lititz, PA Pendulum Rod is 10 1/2 Ft long with a 225lb bob on end. beats every 1 1/4 seconds. All original paint and a very very rare mechanical gas light illuminator mechanism that would trip the igniters in the tower to light up the gas lights.

I just saw a few of them today;
The northern IL Steam Power club, as a club activity today, went to the San Fillipo estate in Barrington Hills, Illinois.

They have two stationary engines, a train, a beautiful giant carousel, several tower clocks, some steam engines and LOTs of other neat stuff. If you are ever in the Chicago area, try to go. . . only drawback is, they are never open to the public.

But if you are a member of a group and you plan ahead you can go.
I lived 5 miles from the estate from about 2001 to 2015 and never made it.

They are around, however at a hefty price for a nice original one with its paint and stripping like the one I have. Mine is quite rare having the mechanical gas illuminator on it and complete.

Haha! That Bulbmogul and I have bid against each other many, many times. I have never once won.

Not a 100 but do have 3 of them in all original condition and those are very very scarce and hard to find. Most over the years been modified, painted chopped, butchered and screwed with ...
