Default Auction of Collectibles Rockwell NC

Small Witte headless, looks good. Steam whistles, look very nice. Lots other antiques. 19th, 20th

Don't see many engines at auctions in this area, thought I'd pass this on. Tried to save pics to post here but could'nt get their format to work.

Thanks for help with the pics Mike. Has anyone seen a Witte with this hopper shape? All I've had were flat on top.

Some of those whistles look like steam relief valves. Be careful if you are looking to buy a whistle.

I checked this engine out about 2 months ago. This is a Log Saw Engine and the hopper has a cover on it that is an add-on. The engine has good compression and the bearings all have shims left. I didn't notice any breaks or welds. I plan to be at the auction on Sunday as well.

Sharp eye there Harry! A lever doesnt make a whistle. The foreground articles do look like PRV's Vic

In case anyone is interested, this engine sold for $600.00 with no buyers premium. A local guy bought it and it is his first engine. He also picked up some of the steam items. Maybe we will see him at some local shows this summer.
