Default Labor Day Weekend oil field fun

Thought you folks might like to see how some friends and I spent our holiday weekend. Power is an Oil Well Supply No.1 Simplex. Great condition, still works like new. Also got rod lines & 7 pump jacks. Had fun in the process

I was told that someone else got the 22 1/2hp Bessemer off the concrete block in the shack 20 +- years ago. No oil in Maine... But Ive got a Reed that's gonna look great hooked to it.

Thanks Peter, Phil & I have been on a couple of outings this summer. I knew he'd be up for this mission. We've been looking forward to getting this stuff out since mid July.

Tom: What was the location of the power? My 15hp Reid came from up near Oil City Pa. My son in law Raymond and I, who Phil knows very well, hauled it back to RI in my trailer. I recently retired and plan on getting her running very soon. Phil's son has a 12 hp Reid I think. You can't go wrong with Phil's help. He's been in the hobby for years and knows his stuff. One year when I went to the Coolspring Show, I visited the Drake Oil Museum and saw a complete pumping setup there. It was really neat, the simplicity of it,,the cables running through the woods supported by posts and trees. It will be an nice display at your farm when you get it all set up. I'll be sure to come to see it when its done. Good luck with the project.

Really a nice power! I have an Oil Well Supply single valve Simplex engine that would go well with it...

No, Kennerdell, 'bout 20 miles southwest of O.C. Would rather have had a quart of Gatorade than lunch! D*** that was a hot day! Bill Klein
