Default wire source for a wire tie bailer

I had a lady contact me asking where to source wire spool for a wire tie bailer. This would be like a Oliver 60-W bailer. I know guys pick up small amounts of wire for hand tie bailers but I'm not up on automatic wire tie bailer supplies. I'm at a loss for any information to forward on to her. Any thoughts? Thanks

Your local scrap dealer or whomever recycles cardboard usually uses a baling machine that uses wire. It works well on hay balers as well, at least the ones you sit down and hand feed wires through.

Any good farm store should have baling wire. Tractor supply, local co-op, etc. There are still a few folks using wire balers nowadays.

Many can special order it as they likely don't keep it on hand. Also I think that only the larger rolls can be had, the smaller rolls that my JD 116 uses are not available. Then you have to rig up a bigger wire box on the baler. It isn't cheap! F.J.W.
