Default Miller Blue star 2E OR AEAD 200LE

My Dad ask me yesterday which would be the best machine for him to get he has found both.

Both are AC / DC machines.

I have looked at the spec's on the internet not the machines and if the conditions are the same it looks like the blue Star 2E is a 3KVA power unit and the other one is a 5KVA. Am I looking at this right?

Anybody have any experience with these units and have any in put?

The ser# are Blue Star 2E JD667542 AEAD 200 LE HJ198160

I don't know what to tell him. I know that he can use the welder some times and it would be good to have the power to run the house when the power is out too. Last year he was with out power for two weeks 7 days one time 8 the other.

Both good units but the AEAD 200LE is a much better machine.

I have gotten both the manuals off the internet and i have found where the Blue Start has power at 1800 rpm amd welds at 3000 rpm

I found where the AEAD machine welds at 3000 rpm but I can not find the power rpms.

From what I have found the Bstar idles down when not welding. And from what i can find the AEAD does not have the is this correct? other than that it looks like the Bstar is a 3kw power and the AEAD is 5kw power Am I looking at all of this right?

Bob

The AEAD should have an automatic idler as well.

BTW - the AEAD is a 1978, the other was made in 1983
