Default Another mad English woman

Morning all!

I am the proud owner of an 1870 Baldwin (of Lancashire, England!) stationary steam engine. I'm currently supposed to be getting ready to take it out to one of the few rallies that hasn't been cancelled, so I'd best keep this brief! One of the issues with it is that some rotter has cut the Pickering Governor shaft off at the base of the governor and the valves are missing. So I shall be asking lots of questions on governors when I get back from the rally, hopefully with lots of pictures.

TTFN
Hazel

Oh dear me, another person has caught that dreaded old engine disease.
Welcome to the Stak and all the best.

Hello Hazel, and welcome to the SmokStak! There is quite a bit of information here concerning Pickering governors, including a few threads about rebuilding worn valve cages. I believe some of our fellows here in the states may even have new castings of valve cages.

Again welcome and happy steaming!
