Default new guy from New Castle, DE

Hi Everyone,
My name is Scott. I am very interested in old gas and steam engines. I am a Machinist by trade, and one of my hobbies is making model gas and stem engines. I usually attend shows at the Rough and Tumble Museum in PA, and the Tuckahoe steam and gas accociation in MD. I have also attended every Cabin Fever show since they started. I have been reading these forums for years, and decided it was time to join. I have been active for years on the Home Model Engine Machinist forum also.
I really enjoy these hobbies. Everyone I have met has been friendly and always willing to help when machining problems crop up.

Hello Scott. Welcome. We are pretty close as I live near Salisbury, MD. I am a machinist want-to-be. My specialty is making metal shavings but I am learning slowly. Post some photos of your current or past projects and feel free to chime in on any subject. Input is always welcome. Best of luck to you and maybe I will see you at Kinzers.

Thanks for the welcome messages. I wish I was still a kid! (I'm 54) My biggest problem is finding shop time-work gets in the way of everything! I just purchased a 3 axis DRO for my mill-dril, so the engines will have to wait until I get it installed. I'm working on a Gade model from Martin models right now, and a Jerry Howell farm boy.
Here are some pics.

Thumbs up Re: new guy from New Castle, DE

You are still a kid, just like the rest of us. The toys we play with have only changed a little. I have no intention of growing up any time soon.
