Samsung, but they're the right way up in my gallery. Is there a way of flipping them around once uploaded here ?

What I do is save them to my computer, then go to edit photo and make a little change, I usually crop slightly and then save the image. It will stay right side up then.

Not sure why the site does that. I've had that happen a few times and Bill has one way to take care of it. Another that I did once and it worked was to flip the photo upside down in my Iphone pictures then load it to Harry's. It came out right side up. Doesn't make sense....

This is my opinion only, based on a few personal observations with photos I have submitted. What I suspect is that somewhere in the data stored with the photo - shutter speed - f stop - GPS data if applicable - etc - is something that indicates camera position when the photo was taken. Any manipulation of the photo outside the camera may not alter this data on camera position so when the photo is submitted on line somehow the final user orients the photo based on that data. I may be totally wrong but that's my story.

That is exactly right. This data is stored in the portion of the file reserved for EXIF data. Some editors and viewers use some of the EXIF standard and there are a few allow you to edit some or all of it. Rotation is often done by storing just the rotation instruction in EXIF data. That is considered loss-less rotation and that is what is often not fully supported. To truley change rotation in the data file causes loss of image quality since the jpeg file is compressed further every time it is rewritten but that is the only sure way to be consistent across platforms. Some editors support that and others don't.

I've been on the phone with top level support at Apple.

Obviously the EXIF data is recording the camera position and displaying the picture as taken.

I've been using Photoshop up to now to crop and enhance. My Photoshop is old so it likely cuts off the EXIF information.

I have been acquainting myself with the photo editing built into the iPhone 10.

Maybe they are still working the bugs out of 3-D camera orientation data

ADD: One should always clean out the exif data, especially on an i-phone..

I have had problems with I phone loading pictures upside down, but since I switched to Android I have not had any problems. With I phone I did like Tommy said, rotated them upside down on the phone then they loaded right side up.

I use my I phone for all my pictures. I'll load them onto my computer and edit them. and then they still sometimes come out upside down or sideways when posting..
It may be easier to just turn the monitor than for me to learn how this phone works

But I have a laptop with a monitor that senses rotation. No matter what, if its posted upside down my view remains upside down.
