Default Portland swap meet

Could someone please let me know the dates for the Portland spring swap meet? I can't find it on the net. I need to put in my vacation time at work. Thanks, David.

Newbie question: I've been to the late summer Portland show. How does the spring swap meet differ?

Boys:

I've been going to both the Spring swap and Summer Show for several years. I feel like the proverbial kid before Christmas! If you're looking for it, you'll most likely find it! I have yet to be disappointed! Folks out there who run the club (Tri-State) are superb, the community is small and friendly. Nextels don't work (there is a God) and I don't have to deal with Fire Department crap for a WEEK!!! A good friend says it's a week in heaven and I do agree!

There is quite a difference in the two events, The swap meet is held on the club grounds entirely and you stay with whatever you are swapping or selling, truck, trailer , camper, whatever. At the show in August all engines/exibitors, dealers etc. are in the fairgrounds across the street from the club grounds. Only campers are in the club grounds. no engines after the show starts. No one can camp with their engines in the fairgrounds. There are several acres on the same side as the engines and tractor exibits filled with with engine and tractor and related item dealers . So either side of the road or which ever meet you decide to attend if you are not exibiting and only looking for an engine or tractor or parts to buy both are good meets. Notice, no selling is allowed in the exibit area of the show and all dealers pay a certain fee for a space. Not so at the swap meet. You only pay what I consider a small fee at the gate of so much per day part of which is refundable should you need or want to leave before the meet is over, I don't think this includes Sunday. This is only to give you a general idea of what to expect. I have nothing to do with the show or its rules. My wife and I have been going to both the swap and show mainly as ehxibitors for 23 years and have seen it grow bigger every year. I hope this will help a little. Joe Morris
