Default Stover U

Does anyone know the correct color for a Stover 8 hp model U serial #OE50391 . Also, can I use JB Weld to fill some pits and small grooves inside the cylinder toward the crank end of the cylinder. I am restoring this engine for a neighbor for free so I don't want to get too involved in sleeving etc... I think if I use JB weld to fill the grooves it will probably be ok I just need confirmation. I also need dimensions so I can make a new rod cap for the crank and the trip linkage. Otherwise I think this will be a good engine.
