The Buckley Show is absolutely great !!!!

The members there are purists and they make certain that all disciplines of this old iron hobby we all share are given equal time and credit. Steam, hit and miss, line shaft, railroad and tractors too.

My hat is off to them in all that they do.

The fire engine lost in that fire was credited as having been the first motorized fire engine on Mackinac Island. I am the utility director there.

If any of you can attend the show in Buckley, you will not regret it.

Bruce

Exclamation Re: Fire at Buckley

Thank you all for the nice comments about the Buckley show.

Yes,,, The items lost in the fire were a real shame.
BTW,,, There only were just a few over 40 picnic tables in there.
The pianos from several music buildings were stored in there including one very nice old player piano. At the April club meeting three or four regular and two player pianos were donated to the club by members.

By all means!!! Come to the Buckley show this August 18-21.
I hope the new building gets the same name, but it will be a MUCH better building. It was the Sam Zue Building, named after one of the original founding members. I hope to be working on it in the coming weeks. It WILL be finished and ready for the show.

When I was there for a swap meet last weekend the site was all cleaned up and it looks ready to dig and pour new footings. I missed the May 6th meeting so on June 3rd I will find out if the new building will be put up by members or an outside contractor. I have seen a model of the new building and it will be great when it is done.
