Default E.A.A. Engine Addicts Anonymous

When I told my wife about the new engine I was buying (25hp Superior) she told me that if I keep buying engines I'm going to have to join Engine Addicts Anonymous. But Dear I only have twelve and only up to 25 hp.
At least she likes them but thinks shows are a lot of work, she still goes and has fun.
I just have to find a way to have her like an engine an ask me to buy it.
She really likes the Lauson- Lawton side shaft line.
Lou, in the Florida Keys

Tell her that you are in your shop, instead of chasing skirts at the local tavern.

Maybe we could come up with a list of questions like:

Has the purchase or search for an engine ever caused you to miss a day of work?

Have you ever been in or caused an accident while searching for old iron?

Do you get the DT's if you do not start up or look at an engine daily...

I think I'm addicted.

I failed to check into E.A.A along time ago, and I ended up getting ironitis disease and rust cancer. Both are incurable. Plus they said my blood / oil level was too high. Way over the legal limit.

I tell my wife at least see knows who my mistress is!
When she really gets on me I tell her "OK I'll get rid of the engines (NOT!), buy a huge TV and spend the rest of my life drinking beer and watching football."
That changes her mind.

All kidding aside she's great and attends many shows with me, I even have a 1hp T&M in my living room right now! how's that for engine addiction.

It is called RUSTY IRON DESEASE. It comes from being bitten by the RUSTY IRON BUG. This bug lives in all climates, but is prevelant in Farming communities and Oil Fields. The bug can't be killed by high pressure steam, either!

Gee Bob, I knew an old corn crib was good for something. It sure keeps your engines out back where you can work on curing your problem. All you have to do is admit you have a problem. Me, no way. Dick in the beautiful Finger Lake Region of NY.
