Default SmokStak growth

When I read that Harry was not going to submit his column into Gas Engine Magazine for a while I thought that GEM waould be loosing a valuable portion of it's magazine and they are. However after a little more thought I realized how much this bulletin board has grown and how Harry must have a lot of time invested to keep it maintained and working smoothly. Hats off to Harry for the great job he has done building a forum for old iron collectors of all types, not just engines. A couple months ago I became a subscriber to Harry's creation because I found that I read, learned and enjoyed these message baords as much or more than most of the old iron type magazines I subscribe to. Thank you Harry for what you have accomplished. I wonder how big SmokStak and all of it's offshoots will become?

It's always neat to take a trip back on the internet "Way Back" archive machine and look at our 1999 main menu:

http://web.archive.org/web/199911281.../enginads.com/

To see others: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.enginads.com

I hope SmokStak is taking good form.

Thumbs up Re: SmokStak growth

Harry,

Smokstak is in MIGHTY DAMN GOOD form! In fact all of your sub-sites are MIGHTY DAMN GOOD.

Without Smokstak... I would not be in the engine hobby! Without the folks with engine experience that are drawn to Smokstak.. I would have made very little progress on the engines I have. I don't have any engine friends close by and this site is my MAIN source of help & research. Searching the archives is invaluable. Being able to ask questions and get many EXCELLENT responses in no time is invaluable. None of this would be possible with text & printed matter.

I could go on.. but in short, Harry... Smokstak and the info on your sub sites is PRICELESS!

THANK YOU ... HARRY!!!!

Harry:

Off topic but you must have watched "Rocky And is Friends" on the tube years ago. Of course and as usual, your Wayback Machine worked perfectly!

Thanks for your efforts and take care - Elden
