Default Screen Cooled Fairbanks?

I was considering making my Herc 12 a screen cooled, and I saw a Fairbanks 10HP screen cooled in the BYB. I've never seen one at a show.
How uncommon are the Fairbanks 10 15 20 screen cooled? We're some of them tank cooled also? Kevin

That's beautiful Harry! I suppose that's a 20 huh? Did they make very many screen cooled compared to the hopper cooled? Beautiful engine! Kevin

Here's a pic of the Fairbanks 15hp N engine formerly owned by Chet Krause.
I grabbed this photo from the Aumann auction site-----Kurt WILL forgive me!!
It was a very nice running engine too.

I just picked-up this 10hp Z and I also have a 15hp Z. I also know about a 6hp Z which I need to go and get. You see a few of them around.

Thumbs up Re: Screen Cooled Fairbanks?

Howdy folks, the ones I saw at the shows were screen cooled with a circulating pump. There was a 15hp that had one of those old cast iron heater radiators. Looked pretty neat and seemed to be doing ok as far as keeping it cooled? Im also working on a 15hp that Im going to thermal cool with a free standing barrel When the engine is completely restored, I might continue thermal cooling it using a screen (the perculating method) or maybe Ill use one of those old heater radiators?

Jason, nice find. I have a 10HP F-M like yours but it is missing a bunch of hardware. Would it be an imposition to ask you to post some more pictures in the Photo Gallery? Thanks, Neil
