Default 12 volt battery and model T coil

HI again,

I was just wondering, would it hurt to run a 6 volt model T ford coil off of a 12 volt battery? im having a hard time finding a 6 volt battery around here.

There is a ton on this in the archives! 12v wont hurt it. You can use a 6v motor cycle battery or a 6v lattern(flashlite dry cell)battery.BobRR

it should not hurt it any...the generators on the old ford would put out as much as 30 volts...12 should not hurt it...wait for a few other responses...I am still new to old iron.

I have run T coils on 12 VDC all the time. My F/M light plant puts about 24 V to it! They are prety sturdy.
