Default Help with FM type R Magneto

I have just rebuilt a FM type R magneto. What is the point gap setting and how do you get to the points to set the gap after the magneto is put back together?

Hi Bill, Check the archives, I posted this question a while back but I don't remember the responses. I cleaned my contacts and just gave it my best guess of around 15 thous. A very poor design! My FM-Z 2HP (R-Mag) started on the second pull of the flywheels after restoration.

Good Luck,
Erik Grund

The F-M service info that I have states 0.020" gap. Once the cap is back on the magneto there is no access to the points. This goes for all the models in the FM-R range that I can see from the information here.
