Default Stud bolts

Good morning,
Another question. Has anyone used clamping studs (available from Grainger and made of "high strength 1144 steel") as stud bolts for a head or ignitor. The only disadvantage I see is that most of the length is threaded rather than just the ends. Any other suggestions for source of 4' 1/2 by 13 studs? Thanks
Jack

McMaster-Carr www.mcmaster.com as well as Fastenal www.fastenal.com carry many double ended studs in the sizes and strength you are seeking.
