Default Delco Light Water PumpXX

I have a water pump made by Delco Light Company Rochester, N.Y. USA. This is a two piece pump serial no. 096853 XX. What is the year of this pump, and is it a residential pump, and what is the color?

I'm a little confused by what you mean by 2 piece pump. Are you talking about a jet type well pump, with a fractional hp motor and sort of a square casting bolted on for the pump?

Delco made a lot of different pumps, both shallow well, and deep well. They made them in piston and jet.

I don't know of any one with a serial number list for Delco pumps, so dating will be difficult.

As far as I know they only painted them in black or orangeish red.

A picture is worth a thousand words, a person once wrote. If I had a picture I could give you a pretty good guess as to the color and date.
