1952 L120 International Truck

Hi everyone-first posting as a member-need help with understanding and maybe finding a spare tire bracket for my '52 international l120. Purchased truck several months ago-I see restored photos of spare riding next to bed side behind cab. Is a bracket needed? I see some trucks with bracket exposed. I assumed that was for spare. Maybe not. Truck is not complete with spare just thrown in the back of the bed. Pete
