Health keeps me away from the Alexander Steam show after 10 years of volunteering full time. Our camper is being loaned to another couple who are willing workers. I had back surgery on July 23rd, our 58th wedding anniversary. My wife has back troubles also and can't do what is needed to move housekeeping from home to the camper. As always we can use all the volunteers we can get. There are never enough members willing to share the load. The last mowing should be done by now and rows will be marked out this week end. Displays are welcome after Monday.

Check out our web site www.alexandersteamshow.com

There are hundreds of pictures there.

A few more of Bob Melville's pictures from past shows. When the 3 cylander Fairbanks Morse is running you can hear it from several hundred feet away. This engine provided electricity and compresses air to a factory that produced both concrete and blacktop paving machines. During WW II it ran 24/7 for several years. The plant produced only one model of each pavor during the war, and all production was purchased buy the military. Machines were shipped primarily to the pacific to build aircraft runways.

Dave - Sorry to learn I won't be seeing you at the show this year.

I plan to visit all day Friday and hopefully again Sunday. Digital camera gods willing I'll have a few photos to share with you and the association afterward!

One sawmill, ready for first shift tomorrow. I'll be at the show too.

Weather looks promising, it's supposed to cool off during the night and stay that way all weekend.
