My grandfather raised about 10 acres broom corn in the late 1950's. A traveling blind broom maker came to the farm and made brooms for quite a while. I'm not sure who sold them, my grandfather or the broom maker. Anyway I still have several of those "new" whisk brooms but none of the others anymore. I really like them, partly because I know the story behind them. They are nearly as old as I am....a blind Amish guy who makes good brooms.
