Cummins Engines is celebrating its 100th Anniversary on June 14-15. Here is one link:

I had a letter today from a good friend in Denver who is also a good friend of Lyle Cummins who wrote the book about his father, "The Diesel Odyssey of Clessie Cummins." I have gotten to know Lyle along the way too.
Cummins is flying Lyle and his family in from the west coast for the event, which is very nice.
Also, Lyle's son Matt lives in Oregon and is planning to drive his Dodge/Cummins pick-up to the event and the company will be documenting his trip.
They will be displaying 5 of Clessie Cummins' diesel race cars which he entered in the Indianapolis 500. These will include cars from 1931,2 from 1934,1950, and 1952. Sounds like they will do a parade lap at the Indy 500 in May:

Let's hope they honour Clessie Cummins in a good way. He was the man who made the Cummins engines.

As long as they dont call his last name Cummings like some people do I think it will be fine. Reminds me of a vintage Jeep meet I went to with my CJ6 diesel and all the people talking about Mr. Willies instead of Mr. Willis. :D
