Hi! Iam looking for any information on this dayton 1000watt 9amp generator.
It is paired to a clinton 3 horse. I am wondering how old is this setup, was it from the forest service, and are there any breakers inside the generator unit? I will post more photos today.

Got your message...

My book (shown below) does not cover your Model 1W710. Lowest number it shows is a 1W761A. None listed have a Clinton engine.
I have one complete and one mostly complete Dayton generators with Clinton engines. Don't remember the Model number off hand, but will try to remember to take some pictures at the shop tomorrow.

Well, that turned out to be a longer break than I intended.....
Here are a few pictures of my Dayton generator. It is a 1700 watt unit with provision for electric starting - But it has no switch, just the 2 terminals for a 12 volt battery. At one time I had a set of cables made up with a heavy pushbutton switch inline, but alas, I can't seem to find it now.....

I have a Clinton generator with the words " sample 2162" in serial number slot, anyone know what this means? There's no info on this anywhere and this thing is in great shape, it's a 3 1/4 horse 4 cycle Clinton motor just can't figure out the serial number..
