Back in mid September I came across this STEM Full Metal Combustion Model Engine, and I was looking for a model to fuss with. After seeing what it was, looking at a few reviews, and really attracted by its price, I ordered one on a pre-order basis, knowing I would have to wait for it :( (Did I ever say I hate waiting for stuff). I was politely advised that they will be available from the supplier in about a month. The month came and went, and I asked in October, WHEN? I was again advised that it would be another month or so from the supplier and if I wished, I could cancel my order and get a refund, or wait. I said I’ll wait. November rolled around, and I asked again, WHEN? I was again advised that it would be another month or so from the supplier and if I wished, I could cancel my order and get a refund, or wait. I said I’ll wait. December rolled around, and I asked again, WHEN? I was again advised that it would be another month or so from the supplier and if I wished, I could cancel my order and get a refund, or wait. I said I’ll wait. Then before my next inquiry :DeadHorse , I got an email 12-30-2018 that my order was shipped :yikes: , and would be here January 10, 2019. My well packed, little Hit & Miss engine with 3 ½” flywheels came two days early in a YELLOW DHL truck :) . Visually the finish and machining is better than expected. At first it didn’t have any compression, then I put in the spark plug :p , and all was good. Here are a few pictures of my first impression. I’ll probably keep it on the shelf and fuss with it a bit as I make the skids, and work on a set of trucks for it. I might even run it someday, and for the price, I think it was a bargain. I'm just having fun, even in NJ  on the way through.

Sometimes we just have to wait  (did I ever say, I hate waiting). In between the many projects I have going on at the same time , I managed to make a set of skids for the model :) using some tools just gathering dust waiting for use on the next project (the radial arm saw, drill press, 11/64” drill, 3/8” Forstner bit, and a 3mm metric Allen wrench (darn metric hardware :( used on the model). I have some 1½” model wheels, but they are too small, and don’t look :uhoh: right for a set of trucks. All in a days "FUN", even in NJ on the way through :O .

Good Afternoon Paul,I ordered one of those engines from Banggood on Sept.28 2018 and I have been waiting just like you for my engine to come.I saw that you ordered your in mid Sept. and that you got yours Jan 8 2018 and I thought hay man my time has come, now I will get my engine soon.I went to their website every day to check if they have shipped my engine.I logged on two days ago and they have canceled my order. They were going to send it out on Feb.13(or so I thought). Its kind of funny that there people on Ebay selling the same motor from China and they have motors in stock. At twice the price, also if you look they have the same pictures as Banggood plus some extras.Well I reordered my engine tonight I am number 907 in line on a preorder list so I hope it will be worth the wait.

Group44XJS: I followed the expected restock date, and the day after each I contacted customer service and asked when can I expect my purchase  . I would get a response the next day indicating supplier issues, and was asked if I wanted to cancel my order, or wait. I said I'll wait - THANK YOU :brows: . Then just before the last "expected" restock date (there were several :uhoh: ) I got an email that my purchase has been shipped and what the expected delivery date was, and a tracking #. It arrived a week early :D . I'm sure they have been swamped  with pre-orders @ just over $200. Well worth the wait, with most any model that can be run (with a little tinkering), being a whole lot more :yikes:.

I have one of these ordered. How can you tell what number you are on the list? I’ve looked and can’t seem to find any indication of my place on the list.

Well my engine came in the other day and I was asked to up date to the better engine. That was worth the extra money because the up dated engine is better built and runs better and slower after you remove one spring.I have bought many unmachined casting kits for more money over the years that did not run as good as this one does. But I think if you want one you would be better off paying a little more and buy one from Ebay But you will still have to wait a little while to get one.But its like what every one said it was worth the wait.....

Hi Team,
we ordered ours (3 off) in January 2019 and received them last week.
Our order was also upgraded to the later engine.
We were asked a few times if we wanted to cancel due to the expected lead time for supply, but we persisted.

Unit looks great and all loose parts were packed in plastic zip lock bags and bubble wrapped--all seems present and correct.
One Friends engine was found to have loose connecting rod big end cap bolts, mine check OK.

Seems they may have got past the supply issues with the upgraded engine introduction.

Invoice seemed to indicate that these engines came in a consolidated shipment to Sydney, Australia, repacked, and dispatched from a depot there to Melbourne Australia.
As Banggood have a large range of merchandise this seems plausible.

Hope your experience is similar to ours.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

Eat your heart out Mike! Just kidding. Don't give up. I first ordered one of these on 10/13/18. It got canceled and refunded automatically on 12/9/18. Reordered again, it got cancelled and I reordered again. Anyway I received one today already. I also ordered the "new and improved" and it is "shipped" sitting in Singapore.........
Ps. Did you hear there're making a running model Beeman? LOL, I wish...

I had the blue one ordered back in January. They convinced me to cancel that order and go for the updated engine. That second order’s status was “processing”, so I figured it was moving right along. Was like that for at least a month. Then I check on it one day and it says it’s back ordered. Everyone seems to be getting an engine eventually, so I’ll just keep waiting.

A running Beeman model... The stuff dreams are made of!:D

I see they are posting them on ebay now also. Prices vary. Im just wondering if you would receive them on a normal delivery date. I haven't started mine, only fondled it. Too many things around here to do right now. Wish I would of got it back in the winter. Oh well. Good luck to all.
One more thing, back when I ordered it, I did some research on the ignition systems failing. I ordered a bag of hall effect switch just in case. Ive had them for a while.

I ordered mine in on January 6 2019. It came the 3rd. week of April. It is the updated version. It runs very well and I am pleased with it. It looks to be a copy of David Kerzels engine. I don't know David but he offers his plans for free. I think he is a premier engine builder. I noticed he posted on another site that he ordered one as well. I figured if its good enough for him, its good enough for me. I think its worth the wait.

Also, as i understand it the original blue one is made in China. The updated one is made in Hong Kong. Some political differences i guess. May be some one has some knowledge about the way manufacturing is done.
