Google for these----one of the other old etc tractor sites had fairly regular postings re' Longs---don't recall which one, but should show up on Google

No battery box, this tractor had a metal battery hold down with 2 rods that hooked on to the tractor and had thumb screws. Looked factory. I will try to get some pictures for you

Like has a plate mounted to tranny housing. Would have a frame around battery and two eye bolts to anchor.

Lots of possibility with your find, I live in Wisconsin and have a Model A also. Any idea where to look for the serial number?
