Im just looking to get others ideas on main bearings
the new engine i posted recently has had heavy copper bearing that replaced the bad babbit
I first thought it was copper pipe but it has the coloring of other copper/brass bushings and boy it fitted up good .002
I might have to do the other side who ever did this repair was pretty good i think
any thoughts on why if at all should i put babbit back in

G Day Bobm,
I dont think it is necessary as one of the sales pitches with old International engines was the longer lasting bronze bearings.
When they got to the model M engines they were white metal but in general they seem to run faster.
I may be wrong but I would be happy to have bronze bearings.

Lance.
