Maytag Twin Long Base 1947?

Hi,

I bought a maytag twin this weekend. 150 bucks. Runs great. Strange though. It's a 1947 model... but it has the long base on it? It doesn't appear to be monkeyed with but appears original? I didn't think that late of twins had long base tanks:shrug:

That is correct. Most long base twins are late because they were built as "replacement" engines for worn out singles.

Nice find, let's see some pictures. It took me a couple years of trading up and down, but now I have a 72, 82 and 92 as longframe version in my stable.
