Looks nice and complete and does not look a mess from heavy oil leakage.

Re: 6.5KW NH followed me home [my first Onan gives new meaning to green deficient] ph

the deer snow blower is about a 25 YO last ran about 2 yrs ago.
I got it from storage mid trip.

the low ramp trailer works great [AKA motorcycle trailer]
two of us slid the generator up on the sheet of 3/8 plywood

my truck bed was about 2 feet higher. [if there were 4 of us maybe]

I've inquired about a used industrial hand cart
8" pneumatic tires in two straight and two in swivel castors.

I've got a 4 @ 15A breaker box & outlets I can use.
if I leave it 120 only I will need to double the neutral wire.

Great score!! I love those uhall trailers.. I have a nice 5.8 but keep it in Ventura which is 40 miles away so I always find myself using them.. I wish they sold them..

Re: 6.5KW NH followed me home [my first Onan gives new meaning to green deficient] ph

at one time I had a ramp, 2-horse, trailer. now Ive got a step up.
but this was the ease of getting it into a trailer bed only 11" off the ground.
a $16 rental about 2 mi away vs getting my trailer 32 mi 4 times
[get, & back, use, return, & back]
I would have spent well more than the rental in extra gas.
est 10 Mi./Gal. and 128 mi extra 12,8 gal @ $2.189 about $28.01

I just hope nothing expensive is screwed up
there is no burnt smell.
no obvious visible damage.

Great find. Most RV removals are real dirty and oily. I bet it needs little work.

question on mounting NH to hand cart & vaccuflow

previous posts re this find
http://www.smokstak.com/forum/showthread.php?t=161084
http://www.smokstak.com/forum/showthread.php?t=160915

the motor home pull out has the vaccuflow outlet down.
the hand cart I plan on using has about a 10 inch clearance for the outflow & muffler.
I recall the blower housing can be turned in 90 degree increments. ???

turn 90 or leave pointing down ??

the shield over the blower is for what use other than 6.5 NH signage?
noise shield ??? can it be left off?

thanks in advance

Re: question on mounting NH to hand cart & vaccuflow

If I remember correctly that one can't be moved. You could put a deflector under it. If you mean the cover over the blower wheel. It is part of the cooling system. Needs to be there.

Re: question on mounting NH to hand cart & vaccuflow

It's needs to be at least 1 1/2 feet off the ground to properly vent the hot air or there is a good chance of overheating.

If you can't rotate the exhaust, a 4"x8" or 10" to 6" round HVAC duct adapter w/ a filler plate (my spec D NH's are 4x8 exhaust) works handily for rerouting exhaust. These are commonly available at the big box stores or HVAC supply houses. I've went this route on a couple of hard mount installs, works great.

Re: question on mounting NH to hand cart & vaccuflow

thanks for the replies
I will attempt to rotate the fan housing such that the outlet faces the rear.
I see the round cover for the shaft access and understand that it must be in place.
The flat "pan" above the blower seems to be only a heat shield for the exhaust piping.
I will likely leave it in place. [for my own safety]
I will likely leave the exhaust under the hand cart unless I go to a bigger muffler.
nice battery box acquired when the son's hot rod's battery was re positioned to the stock location.
next the battery

Hah, Hah, Good one Billy!

That reminds me of Lance Jones from the neighborhood I grew up in. He was the proud owner of a fancy Cushman motor scooter, and spent a lot of time keeping it clean as a whistle. One time when he was bent over shining it up after a trip, he absentmindedly rested his forehead on the exhaust pipe located to one side of the seat. BBQ'd forehead! Took a good six months for the mark to go away.

save me the trouble with like new 6.5 KW NH

the print shows one leg of one winding bonded
the meter shows the neutral neat zero ohms to frame.

B4 I pull the covers off the brushes save me the effort please...
is the bond: a brush to frame jumper wire OR
is one of the slip-ring brush holders conductive.

[easy to un-bond or forgetaboutit]

Heard/seen of both versions.
In another thread seen the jumper to frame by brushes, Johnny C's pics I think.(not sure but think he had a 4 slip ring gen)
Read another Staker having an uninsulated brush holder.
