No, it is factory made. It appears to be an HK bipolar tower motor. It is quite collectible and appears to be in good condition. Check for breaks in the castings.

I am pretty sure it is not a Weeden. I think that it is a H & K (Hawekotte & Klausmann). The two company's made toy motors that were very similar. I have one like this. Ron

Yes, a toy, and will power a small erector set item if geared right. They will run on as little as 3 volts (2 'D' cells)1 Nice looking motor!:) Looks like it's all there, but cannot see the 'brush'. It is a piece of spring copper or brass that complete the coil contact to ground. As the flywheel turns, it makes contact as the rotor poles (round spots on the spokes) come near the electromagnets, and break contact as they pass. 3 impulses per turn of the crank
