Here's an interesting piece that is getting ready to go on display in the main gallery, a circa 1910 Platt Iron Works 10 x 6 x 12 open end duplex steam pump. It's history is a bit sorted, but it was used to supply feed water to a 150 HP Leonard & Sons steam boiler at the Canada Spool and Bobbin Co. in Wakerton, Ontario for over 70 years. An interesting note about the Platt Iron Works factory is that they used 220 volt power throughout the entire complex in a way to discourage employees from "re-purposing" light bulbs at their home residence. .
