Hi all,

The following is part of an ad in the Agweek Farmer's Forum, 9 August 2019.

". . . I will sell the personal property described below to the highest bidder for cash at public auction. Such sale to take place at: 4021 Main Ave, Fargo, ND 58103, on Wednesday, August 28th, 2019 at 11 A.M. . . . . Please address questions to the Cass County Sheriff's Office at 701-241-5800. Property can be viewed 30 minutes prior to the sale.
The personal property to be sold is described as follows:
20HP Reeves Steam Engine Serial Number 7158
320 Reeves American Steam Engine Serial Number 5879
Jesse Jahner, Sheriff
Dean Haaland, Deputy"

There was more information in the ad. I posted what I thought was pertinent. Is the '320 Reeves' a typo?

It is a typo but I would likely bet that the engine is indeed a 32 Horsepower Reeves Steam Engine that was owned by Hunter Hanson. Looking back on Smokstak. FWurth posted thread “Where are all the 32 Reeves” on post 268.

Time to bring this one to the front again. Has any one had any update on this engine? I saw a news article about a Hunter Hanson, grain dealer/ buyer, (Fargo Forum, and Devils lake newspaper) , being closed down by the state of ND by a stop order. Is the same person? The article lists over $5,000,000.00 in unpaid grain customer checks. Don't sound good to me! Now I understand how these hot shots can out bid every one! According to the article, this saga has been building for the past year and half. I wonder if the auction co got settled with?

I think we now have the answer to the question that FWurth raised!
