Does anyone have any info. on a Spence Smith & Kootz pumping engine?
Are they hit and miss or throttle governed? Any and all info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Lou

Most if not all of them came from the factory with a hit and miss pendulum-type governor mounted on the pushrod. I've never known of one to be throttle-governed from the factory......but then, I've not seen them all.
Here's a video of a complete one.

Thanks for the reply. I just bought one from the Kenny Wolf auction and have not seen it yet. I will be picking it up in the Summer as we are in Florida and it's in Indiana.
I don't know anything about it. It's a complete engine, minus cooling and fuel lines.
I'm glad it is of the hit and miss type.
Are there any manuals available that you may know of?
Thanks again,
Lou
