Gentlement; my brother-in-law at Portland, IN last week, bought a 1937 (we think) Stover single cylinder, verticle engine that is tagged as DVB1 DB213101 1-1/2 ~ 2-1/2hp. The tagged also reads, "Stover Engine Mfg Co, Freeport, ILL. This engine is very, very heavy! It appears to require a starting crank that is inserted into the drive end of the crankshaft. Thanks for your comments. Karl

Stover produced the DVA-1 air-cooled engine and the extremely rare DC two-cylinder engines, but I never heard of the DB's. You may have a rare bird.
