Hello, what is more rare, the Maytag w/ the wico or Eisemann magneto. Thanks, I have both, just wondering.

Theres a lot less of the Wico equiped engines around so I guess they would be more desirable. However the parts are also a lot harder to come by so if its broke its harder to fix.

Here in the east, the WICO twin is not seen regularly, and commands an extra $100 in price of an engine. The 72-D is also more scarce, as they were a poor design, failed, and were replaced by the 72-DA assembly.

WICO's are definitely more rare based on what I see up for sale. I have a WICO that is in the last few months of production. From what I've read the WICO's were the most reliable coil of them all.

They were a little more reliable but not by much. The points are so easy to break on them that they became a pain to deal with. Mark
