Description: The mechanisms shown here are computed and drawn on the fly, that is, the positions of all of the elements are calculated, then drawn using a purpose-built drawing library built on top of Java's graphics routines. The drawing library is patterned roughly on PostScript, with a stack of graphics contexts that can have their own current points, transformations, and so forth.
