Description: The Japy engine factory was established in Beaucourt (Terre de Belfort) France and had offices in Paris. In the course of years the firm grew enormously and exercised several activities. Thus they gained several large prizes and medals on expositions in 1867, 1878 and 1889. Around 1896 Japy's first engines came on the market under the name "Le success". The first Japys were petroleum motors,
had no petroleum pump, no air pump, no carburetor, no adjutments and were very durably built. Hence the name Le success. In 1897, three models were available in 1.,2.,4 pk. (Translated from Dutch.)
